Why We Exist

In today’s world, our personal data, communications, and digital choices are under constant pressure from surveillance, disinformation, and unchecked technologies. From biometric tracking to the rise of artificial intelligence, the rules that shape our digital lives are often written without meaningful public oversight.

We believe privacy is not just a personal right, it is a cornerstone of democracy. When communities can trust that their digital lives are protected, they are freer to participate fully in society, hold institutions accountable, and build stronger civic life.

What We Do

CPDS works at the intersection of technology, policy, and human rights. We:

  • Conduct independent research to clarify emerging risks and opportunities.

  • Publish timely policy briefs and reports that equip decision-makers with actionable solutions.

  • Convene stakeholders (think policymakers, civil society, industry leaders, and academics) to foster dialogue and collaboration.

  • Engage the public through education, commentary, and accessible resources that make complex digital issues understandable.
